Topic: Barix Langhorne Post-Op Support Group - Wed. 10-17
Hi Everyone,
The main focus of this meeting are topics as they relate to post-ops, so please come by and share your WOW moments, as well as whatever else is on your mind.

The Place:  280 Middletown Boulevard, Langhorne, PA 19047
The time:  7 p.m. until approximately 8:30 p.m.

If you are celebrating a surgiversary, please bring any props (clothes worn prior to WLS, pictures), you will get 5 minutes to share what it was like, what it is like now and what you look forward to.

We have a nutritionist at every meeting and while all are welcome to attend our support groups, nutritional consults cannot be given to non-Barix patients, but no matter where you had surgery if you feel in need of support we welcome you!

On a last note, while we recognize that there are times when babysitting might be an issue, it would be appreciated if small children were not brought to the meeting, as there are times people have a need to discuss things where having a small child there inhibits their ability to discuss openly talk about what they need to.  Thank you for your understanding.

Hope to see you there!

Laureen

You sound like you have a cat like mine.  Trouble loves to come into our room walk all over me, stick his nose into my face, meows, etc.  it's like come on, mommy wants to sleep.

I went to a Boyds bear bingo with the one stepdaughter tonight.  had fun.  after that, hubby drove me and nikki down to wal-mart.  picked up 3 pairs of pants for nikki, 2 pairs of shoes, a shirt, pk of socks.

I have been passing major gas certain spots of my belly, it hurts when it goes through.  I have a funny, tickling sensation in my upper belly, too.  Drives me nuts..  Haven't had a bowel movement for 3 wks, I took some miralax for it. How long does it take for that stuff to work??

Good Afternoon Beth!

Had church today - Gene preached I was the worship leader.  Gene's sermon was very good today - so proud of him.  So many came up after service to say how good the sermon was and how it actually moved many to tears.  My honey nailed this one!

And they also told me we are a good team!  Guess I'm learning to be a pastors wife :-)

Hider work us up around 3am - our son-in-law installed the pocket door on the master bedroom, Hider likes to open doors.  She can't figure out that it slides so she kept pulling it with her paw to open it and i****ing the wall.  Scared the crap out of me.  After that every little noise woke me up then she saw fit to sit by my ear and meow....Now I'm exhausted and Gene is napping. I'm not ready to take a nap yet, can't seem to  be able to fall asleep so I figure if I play on line for a bit and watch enough CNN I'll just fall asleep :-)

Back to work tomorrow  - MONDAY comes too quickly.  I have to let my boss know I have to leave at noon when my meetings are over.  Gene's glasses broke this morning just prior to leaving for church so I need to take him to the eye glass store to get a new pair tomorrow.....Murphy's law....

HOpe you have an awesome day....

hugs...Ida

Good Morning PA!!

I am up bright and early to meet a good friend for breakfast. Then coming back home to write some thank you notes, do some financial stuff, etc. I am going to rearrange Dee's room. She wants the bed moved so we will see how that goes....in the process will straighten up things too!!

It looks like it is going to be a lovely day!

Love, Beth

I vaguely remember Tom from my early days here on OH.  I also believe I met Tom at a support group meeting at Barix, but that was shortly after my surgery.  I am praying for his family at this time.  I pray that they have the strength to move on in the coming days.

God bless,

Trish

 Hello Laura,

It certainly is a pleasure seeing you post today!  So happy that your "lil hurricane" Lily is growing and bringing you such joy!  Happy to hear you are enjoying your new school and it seems life has come to have a certain quality of goodness that makes you happy!  May it be that way always!

I'm late to this party, nothing I planned today, quite turned out the way it was supposed to and with the advent of a cold full on today, I feel like crap right now.  What I did accomplish was some housecleaning and then drove north to Hillsborough, NJ where I picked up some items my friend gave me from the house she is selling, she leaves for Florida sometime after the closing, which has now been pushed to Friday  I will miss her, but it will be yet another place to visit in Florida.  I did not get home from doing that until 4:45, so that kind of messed me up and I was supposed to go the Witches Ball in Mount Holly with friends, but feeling as I do, I changed my mind and just took some nighttime cold medicine and will be going to bed where I will stay toasty warm and hopefully have sweet dreams to keep me until I wake in the a.m. and try to finish what did not get done today!

Wishing you all the best day/night. . . Laureen

While I cannot say I knew Tom in the way many did, I heard people speak of him and I do believe I remember him from my early days on this board. . . I wish him eternal rest, for his family and all those close associates/friends, I hope they find peace in the memories they have of him and the knowledge of the many lives he touched via his WLS journey. . . I'm sure that he will be missed by many. . .

TY.  I drink as much as I can tolerate.   I can get 2 16.9 oz bottles of water down.  The swelling of my belly went down a lil bit.  My surgeon told me NO scales until I see her on the 22nd.  I walk in the house.  I swept the kitchen floor last night when everyone else was in bed.  They never do what I expect from them at all..  They are all afraid that they will do something more than the other, so stuff doesn't get done.

I slept in bed lastnight and it felt good. I figured out how to get out of bed to where it doesn't hurt so much.  So far today, I managed to get one shake down. it took 2 sittings and a yogurt. again 2 sittings.

I've been a bit tired today and trying to rest with a 6 yr old who can't sit and be quiet is hard.  His dad went to ER to see IF he can stuff for the pain in his teeth.  He has 2 teeth that has to get pulled. Dentist only gave him Penicillin for his teeth but no pain killers.

Welcome to the loser's bench!! I'm sorry for the pain you are feeling, hopefully you will get past it quickly. Try to walk as much as you can and drink as much water as possible. I didn't have a drain but I remember the soreness and  with what felt like a sloshing of my guts inside....ew....but with time things got better.
Hang in there!!!!!!!!!!
